Shepherd Mission is registered as a non-profit making Indigenous Community Based Organization that is committed to bring uplifting inspiration to human potentials and dignity of the vulnerable communities in West Pokot county in Kenya. Over 12 years, we have served aboard the vulnerable to demonstrate God’s Compassion for all people. We partner with communities, the Government and donors to build the capacity, advocate for social justices and support the most vulnerable communities to improve their livelihoods for dignified and noble living.

Gender Equality Advocacy

We believe communities are built when people work together on things that matter to them since all other pillars involves community. We are seeking to bring positive change in Pokot community which will then bridge success of youth and women education, ending FGM, ending GBV, menstrual hygiene and women empowerment and promote inclusive society.

End FGM: Shepherd Mission is on a mission to support UN Declaration on ending FGM by 2030, we are working hard in West Pokot County, Kenya to eradicate the vice now, we are developing tailor-made approaches for the different wards in West Pokot County towards shifting their minds in ending FGM among Girls.

 

Ending GBV & Fighting for Equality: Shepherd Mission is committed to oppose any system that lower girls and women status. We believe to end Gender Based Violence, we need involvement of groups at all levels including challenging and changing such systems of power. We are seeking for partners that we will work together add value in ending GBV among youth in their communities through addressing different forms of GBV uniquely to achieve better positive results.

Democracy, Governance and Peace-building Advocacy

With a focus on advocacy, democracy, governance, and peace-building, Shepherd Mission partners with local communities, government bodies, and international donors to foster social justice and improve livelihoods. By emphasizing the dignity and potential of individuals, our organization works to enhance sustainable development in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). Our programs aim at build resilient and empowered communities.

A significant aspect of our work involves advocacy and governance to ensure effective policy implementation and community participation in decision-making processes. Through networking, capacity building, and resource mobilization, Shepherd Mission not only addresses immediate needs but also empowers communities to influence governance and promote peace in the region. By fostering joint action and collective voice among partners, they enhance accountability and transparency, ensuring that the vulnerable populations in West Pokot and neighboring counties have a say in decisions affecting their lives and livelihoods.
